Having made your way to Tona, (approximately
one hour west of Mildura), the day begins with a property introduction
in our renovated woolshed. Highlights of the tour include;
-Witnessing Tona's innovative approach
to land management and environmental repair.
-Learning of the property's European
and fascinating indigenous past.
-A visit to a traditional indigenous
burial site.
-Collection and sampling of bush tucker
species.
-Understanding the past and gaining
an insight into the future of the Anabranch such as its regulation.
-An outback lunch served among an idyllic
grove of river red gums on the beautiful banks of the Anabranch
including damper and billy tea.
-360 degree views from the Land Rover's
wildlife viewing hatch.
-The property's extensive program of
revegetation (more details on the environment page).
-Witnessing some of Tona's 96
confirmed species of bird.-A
guided walk along a culturally significant stretch of the river
viewing scar trees, fire sites, grinding tools and countless other
implements.
-Tour concludes with afternoon tea,
served on the banks of the Anabranch.
